These aspects can also be applied with thank-you notes and other such things to ensure a consistent look that everyone associates with your special day. Production can take a few weeks to complete, so it’s a good idea to set up your consultation early. You’ll receive two free proofs for your approval of the invitation designs before they’re finalized, so you’re guaranteed to love the result. Once they’re done, you can have the fun of sending them to guests, who will be glad to receive something unique to you and your wedding.

Regarding Your Invitation Wording

1. Don’t mention gifts. Registries should never be mentioned on invitations. Similarly, you shouldn’t indicate a preference for monetary gifts. It is perfectly acceptable, however, to include your wedding website on the accommodations card so guests can find your registry information.

2. But specify no gifts. On the other hand, if you don’t want your guests to give presents, you can say so in the bottom corner of your invitation. Possible wording choices include:

“No gifts please.”
“Your presence is our treasured/cherished gift. We respectfully request no other.”
“Accepting good wishes only.”
“Your presence is the only present we require. We request that you give no other.”

3. Put the bride’s name first. If the wedding is for a bride and groom, it’s traditional for the bride’s name to be listed first (e.g., The Wedding of Jenna Anderson and Brian Roberts).

4. Spell out the year. The proper way to designate the year of your celebration is “Two Thousand Twenty.”

5. Make it clear if children are welcome: If you’d like children to attend your wedding, include the children’s names on the invitations. If you don’t want them to attend, the invitation should simply state, “Respectfully, we cannot accommodate children.”

When Addressing Envelopes

6. Don’t abbreviate street. Or road, avenue, court, etc. You should spell out the word so the invitation reads, “123 Birch Avenue” and not “123 Birch Ave.” Likewise, don’t use state abbreviations.

7. Avoid nicknames. Use your guests’ full first and last names. And don’t abbreviate formal titles.

8. Use numbers for addresses. House numbers and zip codes should be numerals. For example: – 123 Main Street Miami, Florida12345

9. Don’t write “and family.” If children are included in your celebration, it’s customary to write their first names on the inner envelope beneath their parents’ names in order of age.

10. Spell out “and.” It’s “Mr. and Mrs.” and not “Mr. & Mrs.”

Start with your invitation: Decide what colors and shapes appeal to you. You have numerous options. Incorporate it into your ceremony: Welcome guests to your special day with a sign matching the design of your invitation. Create a backdrop using geometric shapes and decorate it with flowers or greenery. Metal or wood work nicely. Use cube candle lanterns to illuminate the aisle.

Continue with the table décor: Combining metal geo shapes, along with on-trend succulents, will give your centerpieces an unexpected and chic feel. Copper and rose gold are stylish choices. And incorporate your chosen pattern on the menus.

Then shape up your reception space: Instead of rectangular escort cards, use a different silhouette like a triangle or hexagon. Hang geometric floral lanterns from the ceiling to spotlight your sweetheart table, bar or guest book. And why not have each cake tier made in a unique shape?

Thermography
Looks like engraving, but it’s a fraction of the cost! The raised lettering is created with ink and powder and heat. You get to choose the lettering style and the ink color to make the look your own.

Digital

Long Island Wedding Planners Invitation Process

Once you come in for an appointment and select your invitation, we do wording, font and layout with you.  Then we submit your order for a e-mail proof, which takes 5-10 business days to arrive. At that time, you can approve as is, request changes, or wait to give an approval to confirm times or name spelling.  From the time you approve your proof, the invitations take anywhere from 1-3 months to come in (depending on the type of invitation you choose.  More elaborate invitations take longer to be produced.  Also, invitations ordered in the height of season take longer.)  We then do the calligraphy for you so all you need to do is put them in the envelope, stamp them, and send them out.  Since wedding invitations need to be mailed out 2-3 months before the wedding,
